Love Island stars Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling have confirmed they welcomed their first child to the world this week.
Laura Whitmore took to Instagram on Friday morning to confirm the news that she and Iain have welcomed their daughter to the world. Sharing a photograph of herself holding her newborn daughter to her chest in a papoose, she wrote simply:
thanks for all the kind messages at this time. We are in love x
Laura instantly received floods of congratulations from fans and fellow celebs alike, with Emma Weymouth, Jessie Ware and Davina McCall among the first to comment. Stacey Dooley, who stood in for Laura on her radio show last weekend, showed her support with a single heart emoji.
Laura Whitmore’s baby name
Laura and Iain have not yet revealed what they have named their first child but Laura previously revealed in her book that they were expecting a baby girl, writing:
I want to bring up my child knowing that she has her own story to write. She will be supported and loved. But she is the heroine of her own life, no-one else.
Laura Whitmore gives birth
The news that Laura had given birth was broken in tabloids on Thursday with the publication of paparazzi pictures showing Laura and Iain out for a walk with their baby daughter. The couple were spotted getting coffee and putting their daughter in the car to head home.
On Thursday, Laura liked a tweet slamming the tabloids for leaking the news before she had announced it. The tweet read:
First the papers ruin @thewhitmore getting married now they’re announcing her birth - how revolting for her. So happy for the pair of them but why can’t they announce this sh*t themselves.
