Adele attends the BRIT Awards 2022 at the O2 Arena on February 08, London. This year's awards ceremony did away with all gender categories, and Adele took up 12 trophies in total after staying 9 weeks at the top of the charts.

Adele was the clear winner at this year's female-dominated Brit Awards, winning artist of the year, album of the year, and British song of the year for her fourth album, 30, and its lead single, Easy on Me.

The most prestigious of it all is the Mastercard album of the year award.

Adele expressed:

I can’t believe that a piano ballad won against that many bangers.

This year's awards are exceptionally significant because, now that the gender categories have been removed,we can see that there are more women who have won. Women and female-fronted bands dominated the competition, taking up 10 of the 15 awards.

That's not all, Adele managed to capture the hearts of her admirers as well. After a public spat in Las Vegas in late January over behind-the-scenes feuds with her former set designer, Esmeralda Devlin, the triumphs at the Brit awards were much needed.

Adele, on the other hand, knows how to win back her followers' hearts. She called a bunch of her admirers individually and apologized. The fans were moved to tears by this.
