There’s a new bombshell heading into the villa this week

More heads could be set to turn in Love Island as COVID hero Priya Gopaldas prepares to enter the villa.

We may be on the homestretch of Love Island 2021, but the bombshells keep on coming. In the wake of last week’s Casa Amor drama, four Islanders are set to be dumped from the villa tonight. But it looks like there’s going to be a new girl headed in to shake things up again—Priya Gopaldas.

Who is Priya Gopaldas?

Priya is 23 years old, a keen runner and a fifth year medical student at UCL. As well as helping to educate people about the importance of vaccination, earlier this year she also stepped up to work gruelling 12-hour night shifts supporting doctors and nurses on a COVID ward.

She said:
I decided to throw myself in at the deep end and take on the challenge of a 12-hour night shift, despite having never done one before. I was shocked to see how ill the patients were. Most patients were intubated, ventilated and sedated, needing round the clock monitoring and care.

Earlier this year, a Love Island insider revealed that producers were hoping to cast key workers, saying:

The team have had over 100,000 applications and have been looking for talent with a bit of edge. Some of the best contestants over the years have been those who don't just want to be famous - those with some real ambition, a solid career and a story to tell, especially of the key worker variety.

Heads turning

A source who spoke to the Daily Mail suggested that Priya has been isolating in Majorca for the past week—backed up by her most recent Instagram posts. The source said:

Priya will turn heads for sure. She's beautiful, intelligent and has a heart of gold. The guys will be scrambling over her if she gets the nod.
