As long-time EastEnders fans, we were gutted when Maisie Smith announced she would be leaving the soap this year. The actress has already filmed her final scenes as Tiff, which will air over the next couple of weeks. But will the character be killed off or will there be an opportunity for Tiff to return one day?

Tiffany’s exit storyline

EastEnders producers and Maisie herself are keeping her exit storyline tightly under wraps. Viewers have recently seen Tiff become involved with dangerous far-right gang member Aaron and sign papers to divorce her husband Keegan. However, it’s not yet clear exactly how she’ll leave the Square. Will it be in a black cab, a body bag or in the back of a police car?

In an interview with Good Morning Britain this week, Maisie revealed that she hasn’t even told her family how Tiffany’s exit pans out. However, she promised it will be a ‘good watch’ and ‘a shock’. Tiffany fans shouldn’t be too worried though, as Maisie also hinted that she could well return to the BBC soap one day. She said:

Listen, you never really leave EastEnders, they always manage to find a way to come back. They’ll even bring people back from the dead... Even if I did (die) they’d bring me back at some point, you never know.

Tiffany’s time on EastEnders

Maisie made her first appearance on EastEndersback in 2008 when she was just six years old. She remained on the show for six years before making her first exit in 2014. She made a brief reappearance in late 2016 before her full-time return as Tiff in 2018.
