Love Island narrator Iain Stirling has revealed that he’s written his own sitcom that will launch on ITV2 this summer.
Iain Stirling’s narration is one of the best things about Love Island – and if you can’t get enough of his jokes, we’ve got some good news! Iain revealed this week that he’s written (alongside Eleanor Tiernan and Christine Robertson) a sitcom that will come out on ITV2 this summer (when we’ll hopefully be getting a new series of Love Island too!).
Iain Stirling’s sitcom
Iain took to Instagram to share the news, writing:
BUFFERING a brand new show coming to ITV2 this summer. @stevebugejacomedy and I (co-written with @eleanortiernan and Christine Robertson) have been working on this for nearly 3 years and can’t wait for you all to see it.
Iain continued to explain the premise of the show, describing it as:
A sitcom about a bunch of 20-somethings who have been told you must live the perfect life. These friends will discover it’s ok to fail, over and over again. Unbelievably I’ve not spent the past year of lockdown playing FIFA21.
Iain also shared a photo with some of the cast, which includes Harry Potter star and stand-up Jessie Cave, Paul G. Raymond, Janine Harouni, Rosa Robson and Elena Saurel. As well as co-writing Buffering, Iain himself will also star in the six-episode series as a 20-something character called Iain.
Laura Whitmore also wrote on Instagram:
Proud wife post! @iaindoesjokes has written a sitcom, stars in it and has been working so hard on it the past few years. Started 2019 but then filming had to postpone until this year because of that bloody covid. But he’s been working away writing (not just playing computer games!) this year and last few weeks we haven’t seen each other as much as he’s been doing long filming days at Pinewood studios to finish it!
