Casa Amor girl Amy Day didn’t have the best time of it on Love Island 2021. After coupling up with Hugo Hammond, she was left disappointed when he went ‘hot and cold’ on her. Their romance was clearly very much over before they had even left the villa. Now it looks like she could be moving on with an ex-EastEnders actor.
Amy was pictured arm-in-arm with Matt Lapinskas at London’s Richmond Theatre for the gala opening of the Dirty Dancing musical this Wednesday. The pair couldn’t have looked happier as they arrived together and posed cosily for the cameras on the pink carpet. It’s not clear whether they’re a couple or just good friends but they certainly looked happy in each other’s company.
Who is Matt Lapinskas?
Matt is best known for his role on EastEnders as Anthony Moon—brother of villain Michael Moon. He appeared on the BBC soap from 2011 to 2012 and went on to finish runner-up on Dancing On Ice series 8 in 2012. He’s since appeared in films Dead Ringer and The Seven as well as a number of stage roles.
Amy Day acting ambitions
Like Matt, Amy is also an actor. Having performed on cruise ships in the past, she’s keen to follow in the footsteps of fellow ex-Islander Amber Davies and break into the West End. She’s also said she’d be keen to get into soap acting, saying:
West End has always been a dream and also doing TV. Fingers crossed, manifest and hopefully you'll see me on your screen soon. I've always loved Hollyoaks and Eastenders too. Soaps are my kind of thing but if I had to choose, Hollyoaks would be the one.
