If going into space was your childhood fantasy, you will be able to live your dream from 2019. The idea of letting common mortals experience this fabulous trip comes from Jeff Bezos, the CEO and founder of Amazon. He created the company called Blue Origin and is currently finalising tests on the spacecraft that he designed, known as New Shepard.

Eight flight tests have already been performed, obviously using dolls and mannequins instead of passengers. Bezos isn’t the first person to have had the idea to send people into space however, since a competitive company called Virgin Galactic is working on the same concept, but not for the same price. Their tickets are going to be closer to 250,000 dollars.
The landing could put some people off
For Blue Origin, their ticket is the cheapest costing 200,000 dollars or £154,000. According to the site Reuters, the CEO of Amazon has already sold 650 tickets to clients on the waiting list.
The New Shepard will be able to welcome 6 passengers on board, reaching an altitude of 322,032 ft for a flight duration of 10 minutes. The price for this particular company is lower due to how the passengers will be getting back Earth.
Returning to Earth won’t be as comfortable and cushioned as sitting in the rocket would be, since you would actually be returning by parachute! So, who’s ready for the adrenaline rush of a lifetime?
