Even if you use Instagram often, you may not know some hidden tricks that can help boost your overall experience on the popular app. First things first: you can subtly change the filter on your photos.

That’s right. Instead of just choosing a filter on Instagram or via a photo editing app like VSCO, you can edit the photos right after you upload it to the social media platform. Just press the little sun-looking symbol at the top of the photo when you reach the filters page or click the option that says “edit” at the bottom right of your screen. You can add some vibrancy to your photo this way!

You can also turn on post notifications for specific people! That’s right. If you want to be notified as soon as your best friend or favourite fitness influencer posts something new, just click on the three little dots above one of their photos and press Turn On Post Notifications.

Travelling somewhere new? Go to the search box and click Places. Type in whichever location you want to see! You may find images of either fun places to go or people in that city doing fun things that you want to do.

You can save your favourite photos, too! All you need to do is press the button that resembles the bottom of a ribbon on the bottom right of whichever photos you like. You can create collections of your saved images.

But that’s not all! You can also save your original files. Instagram cuts down the size of your photos to help speed up the app and to prevent people from stealing your images. But you can save your original photos by going to the Profile tab, go to Account, press Original Posts, where you can choose to save your full-resolution images. Want to know more hacks?
