Whilst appearing on Strictly Come Dancing may look like a dream, over the years it's caused a lot of problems for many contestants (and their other halves!) as appearing on the show seems to have the power to totally destroy even the most solid relationships.

The so-called curse first began back in 2004 when Natasha Kaplinsky and Brendan Cole each split up with their respective partners to get together after growing close on the show. Pro Flavia Cacace split from her fellow professional dancer boyfriend Vincent Simone when she fell for celeb partner Matt di Angelo in 2007. She and Matt dated until 2010 - when the Strictly curse struck again and she dumped him for Jimi Mistry, who is now her husband, in 2013.
Last year, Seann Walsh and professional partner Katya Jones caused a scandal when they were photographed in a passionate embrace outside a pub - despite the fact both had long-term partners. Seann's then-girlfriend Rebecca Humphries immediately dumped him, sharing a powerful Twitter post in which she revealed she'd 'taken the cat' whilst Katya's husband Neil Jones - a fellow Strictly pro - chose to forgive his wife.
Now, last series' winner Stacey Dooley has been hit by the curse as she's split from her long-term boyfriend personal trainer Sam Tucknott. During the show, Stacey was partnered with pro Kevin Clifton who split from wife Karen in early 2018.
