Unusual infection
Eddie Zytner, 25, and Katie Stephens, 22, returned from the Dominican Republic with swelling and itchy feet. They stated that their pain was so intense that they couldn't wear shoes or socks and had to use crutches. Eddie shared a photo on Facebook of his deformed and infected foot.
According to the couple, they contracted a parasite whilst walking on the beautiful beaches of Punta Cana. Katie Stephens shared a Facebook post warning people to be careful on the beach. She stated
To anybody travelling somewhere tropical, please be careful when in the sand and wear shoes'
