This 5 year old girl is an inspiration. She started practicing gymnastics even though she lost her arms and legs to meningitis. A story that will touch many of you.
Harmonie Rose Allen is a 5 year old American girl. All four of her limbs were amputated when she was only 11 months old, because of meningitis. However, her disability does not prevent her from fully enjoying her life.
Harmonie has a hobby: gymnastics. Equipped with her small purple prosthetics, she climbs onto the mat without any fear of going beyond her own limits. This little girl's perseverance and independence are incredible. She has quite simply figured out her own way of learning things.
In 2014, the little girl had just taken her first steps when doctors announced to her parents that she had contracted the meningitis virus. They were told that Harmonie had the most deadly infection out there and that she had only a 10% chance of survival. Harmonie beat the odds.
Since then, Harmonie has had to learn to live without her four limbs. In March, she did a half marathon with the help of her teachers but managed to cross the finish line on her own. This girl demonstrates an impressive amount of energy. An example that we should all follow.
