We've seen some pretty strange transplant stories before, such as this woman who ended up meeting the man who had her late husband's face, but this one is very touching indeed.

Kiersten Miles had only just started working as a summer babysitter for the Roskos when she discovered that the youngest of their children - Talia - was desperately ill and in need of a liver transplant.

Although she had only known the child for a short while, Kiersten had formed a special bond with Talia and decided she wanted to help. Therefore, she decided to get tested to see if she was a donor match.

After Wednesday this sweet little one will always have a part of me with her. Would really appreciate prayers for a successful and smooth surgery/recovery for the both of us. Thank you 💕

When Kiersten announced to Talia's parents that she wanted to give part of her own liver to save the little girl's life, they were very shocked. Whilst neither of Talia's parents had been a match, miraculously, Kiersten was, and after rounds of medical and psychological evaluations, Kiersten was able to donate.

The surgery was a success and Kiersten told the media that she 'would 100% do it again.' She and the Roskos hope that their story will educate and inspire others to become organ donors.
