‘Oakley’s No More’

Investigators now believe five-year-old Oakley Carlson was last seen alive on 10 February.

The parents, Jordan Bowers and Andrew Carlson were arrested on suspicions of manslaughter after their other daughter, revealed during a recent sleepover that the missing girl was ‘no more’.

The six-year-old disclosed this to her friend, who is the daughter of the school principal who hosted the sleepover. The teacher overheard the child’s claims and notified the police.

In an interview with a child advocate afterwards, Oakley’s sister reportedly told child advocate later that:

her mother had told her not to talk about Oakley [and that] she had gone out into the woods and had been eaten by wolves.

Oakley’s nine-year-old brother also reportedly informed detectives that Oakley would be

put the closet, possibly under a stairwell. [I] witnessed Jordan beat Oakley with a belt and has been worried about her starving.

Slim Chance of Oakley Being Alive

The parents have also been charged with abandonment of Oakley’s sister for not giving her prescribed medication for 15 months. Undersheriff Brad Johansson said:

The medication is necessary for her physical wellbeing and puts her at risk for physical impairment and could eventually result in death.

They told investigators the last time they saw their missing daughter was on November 30. However, police are yet to determine if she was alive after the family was displaced by a fire on November 06.

Oakley’s grandparents informed the police that they had not seen their granddaughter since December 2020.

The parents are currently being held in police custody on a £113,235 bond and are scheduled to appear at the District Court on 30 December. Mr Johansson said:

The likelihood of Oakley Carlson being alive is not very good at this point.
