This lovely scene was filmed in Little Falls, Minnesota in the north of the United States. And when he saw her, Cooper decided to completely ignore military protocol.

'I was longing to hold him, that's all that I thought about,' said his mother, Kathryn Waldvogel, 25.
'All of a sudden we had to file into the building and get into formation, and I just look up and Cooper and my mom are right there,' she said. 'He just kept smiling like he was in awe of me,' she said.

To be more precise in fact, when the soldiers return to this town, they must follow protocol, but Cooper decided to brush all that aside and run into his mother, Kathryn Waldgovel’s arms instead. And it’s very obvious how emotional this reunion was between mother and son.

Being away from your mother for nine months straight isn’t an easy task for most people, but when you’re just three years old, it can be really tough indeed.

According to what Kathryn Waldgovel revealed afterwards, Cooper asked her ‘Can we play together all day long?’ after jumping into her arms.
