A 16-Year-Old Was Left Clinging To Life After Her First Time Trying This Common Drug

This poignant message was posted in a video on Facebook by this young girl. After taking ecstasy, she found herself in a coma before becoming disabled, which comes as a warning to young people about the dangers of taking drugs.

Amy Thomson was 16 years-old with her whole life before her when fate took a turn for the worse while she was at a party with friends.

It was in Glasgow, Scotland, that the girl made the mistake of taking ecstasy. The single pill was too much for Amy who lost consciousness and fell into a coma.

Between life and death

It took more than a month in the hospital for Amy to recover. Unfortunately, the damage to her brain was almost irreversible and in a video posted by her parents, we can see the young woman in a wheelchair, weak and barely able to speak.

This video was made to educate the young about the dangers of taking drugs.

After being in a critical condition for weeks, Amy started the long road to recovery.

In a video posted by her family in 2016, Amy was seen taking her first steps out of her wheelchair - an amazing feat as doctors had feared she would never walk again.
