Sex is like a high-intensity workout. So if there's one thing you shouldn't forget when you're doing it, it's to breathe! We can't live without breath, and yet, it's something we tend to overlook. You might be interested to know that it also plays a very important role in sexual performance.

Don't forget to breathe

Not paying attention to your breath can cause a 90% reduction in pleasure sensation. During sex, tons of things happen inside the body that we're not necessarily cognizant of. Things can get very intense and cause difficulty breathing, which contributes to an increase in arousal. While arousal is good (why else would we be doing it?), too much of a good thing can lead to an abrupt end.

In order to control your breath during intercourse, you have to understand that there are several ways to take in oxygen. First, there's abdominal breathing, which will relax all of your muscles, regulate arousal, and reduce stress. For it to be effective, you have to breathe in for 5 seconds, then breathe out for 5 seconds.

Then, there's thoracic breathing, which increases muscle tone and power. Proper thoracic breathing during intercourse increases endurance. When you feel like you're about to climax, just pause and take a deep breath. It'll cool you down so you can work your way back up!

Also, some positions make it easier to breathe during sex. You can find them in the video above. You're welcome.
