The photo shows Carole Middleton posing with a smile alongside her two daughters, Kate and Pippa, and her son James. According to Gala, the three children would often model for the catalogue of the party supplies business. They wrote in the post:

Happiest of Birthdays to the party planner extraordinaire! We hope you have the most magical day.

The photo was first taken in 1989 when Kate Middleton was only seven years old and it was originally shared in 2017 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the family’s decorating business. When the photo was uploaded again on Instagram, followers were delighted to get a glimpse into the Duchess’ childhood and some of them couldn’t help but notice the remarkable resemblance between the mother and daughter. One follower commented saying:

Happy Birthday Carole, what a wonderful photo. Oh my, how much does she look like daughter Kate in this photo. Beautiful x

Carole Middleton, a grandmother close to her grandchildren

Now that Kate Middleton has kids of her own, Carole has been playing an active role in their lives. In an interview with Good Housekeeping in March 2021, she said that she's very close to her daughter’s three children and that she enjoys doing several activities with them—including climbing trees, cooking, dancing, and going on bike rides.

She may be running a full-fledged business but Prince William’s mother-in-law has certainly carved out enough time in her schedule to spend with her grandchildren. Even more so now since she wasn’t able to be with them in 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic.
