Although it may seem difficult to believe, Queen Elizabeth II, who has been in power for 67 years, is expected to abdicate soon and give way to her son, Prince Charles.
And this could happen much sooner than expected. Indeed, according to the English magazine Mirror, an expert on the Royal Family reportedly stated that the Queen of England was giving herself two years before giving up the throne.
‘Elizabeth II has had in mind for several years to abdicate on the occasion of her 95th birthday. The latter will take place on April 21, 2021. She could thus cede the throne to Prince Charles, heir to the title for more than seven decades,’ as the English site and Closer specifies.
A not so clear future
However, many English tabloids also suggest that it would not be impossible for Prince Charles to refuse this privilege and thus let his son, Prince William, rule Britain.
