Spicy toppings

Pizza is that Italian special that is loved and savoured by many all over the world and the beauty of this fast food is that it comes with pretty much any topping you can think of including cheese, pepperoni, onions, ham, chicken, black olives, pineapple...

The interesting thing about Prince William though is that he loves his pizza with Indian curry toppings! Yes, the Prince has loved this delicious pizza since he was a boy, as the royal chef then would always prepare it for him.

In an interview with Hello! magazine, the royal chef, Darren McGrady, who made the Prince’s meals when he was much younger, had this to say:

In fact, he enjoys it so much that a palace chef used to make the prince a pizza with curry topping.
I (made) pizza all the time for William… In my second cookbook, The Royal Chef at Home, there’s a chicken tikka masala pizza (recipe) because he loves Indian food.
The pizza combined the two.

The Prince's love for curry

The Prince had in the past admitted his love for dishes with a dash of curry, when he had a recorded interview at Kensington Palace with former English striker Peter Crouch and co-hosts, Tom Fordyce and Chris Stark in 2020. During the interview, he said that they had an Uber driver that picks up their order whenever they needed to try out some Indian food. The Prince is a huge fan of samosa, chicken tikka masala, poppadums and mango chutney.

His wife, Kate Middleton, really loves spicy food too. According to Hello!, the Duchess of Cambridge is an avid hot, spicy curry consumer. It was reported that when Kate was about to have Prince George, she opted to have a home-made vegetable bowl made by the combined efforts of Indian couple Chan Shingadia and her husband, Hash, who were proprietors of the Spar shop close to Kate’s home. Kate is a vegetarian, but it was reported that during her pregnancy she still craved curry to be added to her dishes.
