Chail’s motives

He was allegedly carrying a weapon that was ready to shoot and loaded with a bolt with the safety catch off. The former supermarket employee was described by a policeman as looking like a vigilante movie character or someone who was costumed for Halloween.

When Chail entered the grounds of the Castle, Her Majesty was inside in her private apartment with Prince Charles and Camilla confirms Sky News. Chail is currently in a high-security psychiatric hospital in Berkshire and reportedly, before being handcuffed and arrested, he told a protection officer:

I am here to kill the Queen.

He is accused of making death threats, possessing a dangerous weapon, and violating the terms of the Treason Act.

Court case

Chail appeared before Westminster Magistrates Court in London via video link from his psychiatric hospital. He was sitting at a table with his arms folded and only spoke to confirm his name, date of birth and current address. The court has also heard claims that Chail wanted to get close to the Royal Family so he tried to join the Ministry of Defence police and the Grenadier Guards.

Allegedly, he wants to take revenge on the Royal Family for the treatment of Indians and sent a video to 20 people claiming that he will assassinate the Queen. The Supersonic X-Bow weapon that he was carrying can cause serious to fatal injuries, as such his case is being dealt with by the counter-terrorism division. Chail is currently remanded in custody and will appear at the Old Bailey on 14 September.
