Moving to Windsor

After weeks of house hunting, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have found their new home. According to The Independent, the pair will be moving into a home on the grounds of the Windsor estate with their three young children.

They plan to move once Prince George, 8 and Princess Charlotte, 7, finish this year’s school term at Thomas’s Battersea. It is believed that the children will then enrol in a school near Windsor.

A love for the country

According to The Sunday Times, Prince William and Kate will keep their home in Kensington Palace for their private and press office. Moreover, reports suggest that the couple will also keep their holiday home, Anmer Hall, up in Norfolk. A friend of Prince William’s said:

They absolutely love it up there

The friend also suggested that the couple would like to make Anmer Hall their ‘permanent base’ for ‘after the school years’.

They may move into Windsor Castle permanently

The Independent suggests that the Cambridgesmay eventually move into Windsor Castle once Prince Charles becomes King as he would spend more time at Buckingham Palace than Windsor.

A close aide told The Sunday Times:

There is a sense of the future accelerating towards him, which is tinged with profound sadness — though he would never say it publicly — because of the implication that his grandmother would no longer be around, the added pressures on his father and his family being under even more scrutiny.
