Prince Andrew: Virginia Giuffre is free to write a tell-all book about sex abuse case, here’s why

Earlier this year, the disgraced Prince Andrew struck a deal with his accuser Virginia Guiffre by giving her a substantial sum of money. While the actual amount of settlement wasn’t disclosed, it was believed to be over £12 million. But is that really true?

Why is Virginia writing a book?

According to The Sun, Prince Andrew’s settlement amount for the sex abuse case was as little as a quarter of the said £12 million. Sources have confirmed his lawyers were able to negotiate the deal to an amount – somewhere between £3million-to-£5million - that the broke Prince Andrew could scrape immediately to halt the civil lawsuit.

The fact that Virginia was not asked to sign a gagging order as part of the deal and is free to write a tell-all book about the entire episode – which she will – serves as damning evidence that the lawsuit settlement amount wasn’t £12 million.

The tell-all book poses a further threat to the disgraced Duke and the Royal Family’s reputation as it may reveal things that the royalty might have wanted to keep hidden.

Financial crunch

Not to overlook the fact that there were huge claims of financial hardship for the duke and her Majesty was believed to have helped with the settlement. The source confirmed:

It was thought, and widely reported, that Virginia got a settlement of £ 12 million from Andrew, but that’s not right.
It was far less than that, as low as £ 3 million.
No doubt this will have influenced the conditions of the agreement that she was prepared to sign.

This comes after it was reported that Prince Andrew and his wife Sarah Ferguson bought a £ 5 million house in London’s swanky Mayfair.
