On 22nd July, Prince George, the eldest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton, celebrated his fifth birthday. To mark the occasion, Kensington Palace published a photograph of the young boy, who is all smiles in a white shirt and blue shorts. The shot was evidently taken during the baptism of his brother Louis.
The caption to this post on Kensington Palace’s social media read ‘The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a new photograph of Prince George to mark His Royal Highness’s fifth birthday tomorrow – thank you everyone for your lovely messages.’
A kind message which concealed the beginning of a mini-controversy. More observant viewers managed to notice a small detail in the photo: the last button of Prince George’s shirt is not done up. Clumsiness, carelessness or a fashion faux-pas? Nobody really knows yet. The mystery is yet to be solved!
