The Duke and Duchess of Sussex created the Archewell website in 2020 as a non-profit organization that offers the fans updates on their ‘compassion in action.’ After the recent makeover of the website earlier this month, the website updated its mission statement. The Archewell website has now started recommending users to take a break from their devices.

The site now features an automated message that appears 20 minutes after a visitor arrives and says:

We love having you here... But we're mindful of screen time. Why not take a break? We'll be here.

Why the new initiative?

The message is in line with the Centre for Humane Technology, one of Archewell's partners, which recommends shutting off internet notifications, deleting toxic apps, and measuring screen time to modify habits. And as such, the Archewell foundation is now described as:

An impact-driven global non-profit that puts compassion into action; uplifting and uniting communities locally and globally; online and offline.

Further, the couple commented on their website in line with their new mission statement:

As we increasingly understand the direct link between technology and its effect on each of us—online and offline—Archewell Foundation will continue to prioritize critical work around the state of our digital world.

Both Meghan and Harry have put their heart and mind into the preparation of the website. The website revamps pop up and messages every so often with messages that align with the Duke and Duchesses’ ongoing agenda.

Out and about

The pair recently arrived in Santa Barbara on Saturday by private jet and were reunited with their children, Lilibet and Archie, after a tour of New York. They were in New York for the Global Citizen Live performance, where they promoted vaccine equity. During Meghan and Harry’s combined speech, the Duchess highlighted the problem with vaccine distribution and said:

Every single person on this planet has a fundamental right to get this vaccine. That's the point, but that's not happening.
