The hottest new dating app
Who knows you better than your BFF? Thanks to Ship, they get to be the ones to decide your future crushes. Your best friends will make your profile after being put in a group called ‘Crew,’ where the lucky single’s loved ones assemble to help them find their better half. The ‘Crew’ members can then discuss with and share these profiles.
‘Dating apps are a huge part of today’s dating culture and people in relationships are begging their single friends to let them swipe for them,’ said Aleen Kuperman, Jordana Abraham, and Samantha Fishbein, founders of Ship as well as the site Betches, to British media company The Independent. If, by chance, one of your friends matches with a potential Prince Charming, the whole ‘crew’ is informed.
Why let your friends choose?
It might seem an unusual approach, but this app’s got the right idea. Think about it: we often have trouble seeing ourselves as we are, and it can be even more difficult to grasp the image we project to others. We don’t always sell ourselves well—so why not ask for a little love help from the people who already love us most? James Preece, a dating coach, says in a conversation with The Independent: ‘What we say we want, what we think we want, what we need, and what we can get are all completely different things.’ Now you know exactly what you need to do to (finally!) land yourself the romance you’ve been waiting for!
