Little Otto the kitten went viral in Turkey after a vet diagnosed him with Down syndrome. According to Otto's veterinarian, the shape of the cat's face and the structure of his forehead all point to the genetic disorder.

However, most feline experts agree that Down syndrome does not exist in cats, though they could suffer from another genetic conditions, which is very similar. Down syndrome is the copy of the 21st chromosome in humans. Cats only have 19 chromosomes, so they technically cannot have Down syndrome, but they can have genetic mutation.

Sadly, at just two and a half months, Otto started spasming uncontrollably and was rushed to the hospital and taken into intensive care. Unfortunately, the vets could not save him and he passed away from heart failure.
