Picture this: a customizable doll kit (£35). Inside this kit, you'll find a doll with short hair. This doll comes with accessories, hair extensions, and different sets of clothing. A celebration of diversity, the "Creatable World" dolls come in six different skin tones.

Mattel's senior vice president Kim Culmone explained that "toys are a reflection of culture and as the world continues to celebrate the positive impact of inclusivity, we felt it was time to create a doll line free of labels."

So there's that! Gender-neutral dolls will "give kids the freedom to make their dolls look like whatever they want”, freeing them from the weight of society and the norms that weigh on them from an early age.

To create this "Creatable World" collection, Mattel called in a team of experts, parents and, of course, children. You can check out the gender-neutral dolls in the video above.
