Since joining the royal family, Meghan Markle has been a frequent target of various critics opinions remaining mixed amongst the British public. And with a backdrop of mainstream media's watchful eye, Meghan's perceived capriciousness is reinforced all the more.

But Meghan's closest friends have come forward to jump to her defense. Speaking exclusively in an anonymous interview with People magazine, five people close friends of the duchess testifiedon behalf of the struggle that she is enduring as a result of the negativity that the British press have been relentlessly shedding on her.
After two years of silence, friends of Meghan have jumped in to deal with "global bullying [to which she was subjected] and speak the truth" regarding the reality behind the Duchess' situation. "Meg has silently sat back and endured the lies and untruths. We worry about what this is doing to her and the baby," explained one anonymous interviewee. "It's wrong to put anyone under this level of emotional trauma, let alone when they're pregnant," she adds.
Just an ordinary woman
Some of Meghan's close friends recently had the opportunity to spend a few days with the former actress in a small, cosy cottage that she shares with husband, Prince Harry in Nottingham. They confidently express that Meghan Markle hadn’t changed once bit since being crowned the title of the Duchess of Sussex:"She made the most lovely meals. She made tea every day. It was raining and muddy outside, so the dogs got all dirty, and she's wiping them off with towels. How much she loves her animals, how much she loves her friends, how much she loves feeding you, taking care of you. None of that has changed," one of Meghan's friends recounts fondly as she casts her mind back to her stay with the Duchess whilst Harry was working out of town. Amidst all the rumours and turmoil, Meghan's closest companions offer a positively refreshing statement of friendship during a period of hardship.
A heavy blow for the Duchess
Meghan's friends also revealed how the mum-to-be had also made attempts to reconcile with her estranged father, Thomas Markle when she sent out a heartfelt letter, paired with an olive branch to symbolise forgiveness. Nevertheless, she was met with an answer that ultimately leaves Meghan 'heartbroken'. In response, per Meghan's friends, he remained press-centred and simply asked for a photo opportunity with the Duchess - ultimately leaving Meghan 'heartbroken'.
