The classic guacamole is one of the easiest dips to make. Not only is it creamy and delicious, but it is made of avocados which have been labelled a super-food by nutritionists and so, it is also good for health.

All you need for this recipe are avocados, lime and coriander.

  • Scoop out the flesh from a ripe avocado and put it in your bowl.
  • Take a fork and mash the avocado. You can also do this using a mortar and pestle if you prefer. Mash the avocado according to the consistency you like: whether smooth or a bit chunkier.
  • Squeeze lime juice according to taste.
  • Add salt and pepper.
  • Garnish with coriander.

You can elevate this dip by adding finely chopped onions or tomatoes and even paprika for some heat.

Cucumber salsa is a play on classic tomato salsa. This dip goes especially well with tortilla chips, which tend to be a bit sturdier than the other kinds of chips.

  • Finely dice a fresh cucumber. Cut it into very tiny cubes.
  • Fine dice a tomato keeping it roughly the same size as the cucumber.
  • Squeeze fresh lime juice and add salt and pepper according to taste.

If you want more flavours, you can also add onions and bell peppers to this dip.
