What is a product recall?

Product recalls happen when a safety risk is found with products. Customers are advised not to consume the product and are offered a full refund. This sometimes happens due to a contamination risk, for example if pieces of plastic or metal are found inside food. Incorrect allergy information can also lead to product recalls, to avoid endangering people with allergies.
