Tiger balm is very useful when you get those little recurring colds. But its potential doesn’t end there… Here are all the situations in which tiger balm can prove very effective!
Developed in the 1870s by herbalist Aw Chu Kin, tiger balm is a product that you use on your skin to ease musculoskeletal pains. But there’s more to it than that.
This product comes from China and there are two varieties: white and red tiger balm. White tiger balm is used for headaches, nasal congestion and insect bites whereas red tiger balm is used for pains caused by muscular and joint spasm. But tiger balm also has some quite unexpected uses, that we’ll reveal below.
Excessive and odorous perspiration, throat aches, minor burns, headaches (for which you need to massage it into your temples), travel sickness (apply the balm to your lips and just under your nose), to make it easier for you to breathe (apply it to your chest) and to soothe mosquito bites (apply the balm directly to the bite to stop the itching). Tiger balm also exterminates termites, helps you remove paint and can even help ease diarrhoea.
So there you go, it turns out it’s a great idea to have a jar of tiger balm in the house. Take a look at the video above to find out more...
