SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) was the first serious and transmissible disease to emerge in the 21st century according to the Pasteur Institute.

At the end of February, Professor Didier Raoult, director of the Marseille Medical Hospital Institute, had been thinking that the famous drug, chloroquine would be a good option to be tested and should be considered as a matter of urgency. The first clinical trials were encouraging, particularly on the phenomenon of the contagion:

75% have a negative viral load after 6 days.

On the other hand, 90% of patients treated without chloroquine, in the Nice and Avignon area in France, were still contagious over the same period.

In this context of crisis, 6 doctors from the Mediterranean Institute for Infection in Marseille decided not to wait for the conclusions of the therapeutic studies in progress.

Doctors Philippe Brouqui, Jean-Christophe Lagier, Matthieu Million, Philippe Parola, Didier Raoult, and Marie Hocquart have all decided not to wait for the conclusion of the clinical trials.

Famous french journalist Laura Tenoudji is among the patients infected with the coronavirus. She decided to trust Professor Didier Raoult. On Instagram, she opened up on the matter:

I have decided to put my trust in the studies of Professor Didier Raoult and I thank him warmly for his exceptional work. I hope that this treatment can be generalized very quickly. Several people have testified to me that they have taken the treatment and had an accelerated recovery. Thank you for sharing your testimonies with me. The more people who say so, the sooner the population will be able to benefit from it. It is an emergency!

We will follow the development of this treatment as it continues...
