More recently, we rediscovered the world of Harry Potter in the Cursed Child play, written as a sequel to the series. The play was written by J.K. Rowling herself, along with Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, and published in 2016.

A new book related to Harry Potter?

The new book by J.K. Rowling has both everything and nothing to do with Harry Potter. The universe in this children's storybook is totally different from the wizarding world.

However, the author revealed that she wrote it at the same time as the Harry Potter saga. This new book, called The Ickabog, is intended for children.

A welcome surprise

J.K. Rowling never stops surprising her fans! During the lockdown, the author released the audiobook rights to the Harry Potter saga to teachers as part of the 'Harry Potter at home' project. J.K. Rowling also unveiled a new website to keep readers busy during this period.

Although the author has already given us several gifts during the lockdown, there is one more, and it's a big one: this new book is available for free! Several chapters are being unveiled each week, online, until July 10th. Some chapters are already available - you can read chapter them here - and a paper version will be published in November.
