In her very first appearance, The One With The East German Laundry Detergent in season one, we hear a lighter, less annoying version of cackle. After a couple of appearances, Wheeler unleashes the full-blown laugh that most of us have grown to love - Joey, Ross, Chandler, Monica, Phoebe, and Rachel may have a different opinion.

Wheeler claims that Matthew Perry’s (Chandler) humour inspired her to develop a strange laugh because it was essential for Janice to laugh at Chandler’s jokes and comments. She needed to have a back-up laugh in case she couldn’t actually laugh at something he said!

However, she reveals that the sound and tone of Janice’s laugh comes from three different characters. Do you want to find out which characters propelled the iconic cackle? Take a look at the video to find out!
