While some may have thought that the funny hat was just a cute toy to play with when you're drunk and pretending to be a giant, but it actually has some very helpful uses.

Here's what it's for:

If you turn the little hat upside down, the sombrero is actually perfect for measuring out a shot. Not only that but if you had enough of them you and your friends can have fun taking shots out of a tiny hat all night.

Also, the sombrero can be used as a lime squeezer, making cocktails so much easier to construct.

Finally, and most importantly, the rim of the sombrero can be used to salt the rim of your glass.

So, it turns out that the Sierra sombrero was actually the complete tequila tool we never knew we needed.

The helpful Tweet has gone viral and the response was incredible, nobody had really put much thought into the plastic sombrero until now. One user commented:

I thought it was just a cute sombrero to put on your pet rat or something.

Another replied:

WHATTTTT NO THIS CHANGES THE ENTIRE GAME

Well, there's no doubt sales of the tequila will be increasing as everyone will want to try out these new sombrero hacks!
