It's pretty easy to run out of eggs, but when you're trying to make a cake it's not the best situation. Some people choose or can't eat eggs at all! Luckily, there are many egg substitutes that can be used instead and they are all commonly found in your cupboards.
1. Fruit Purees
1/4 cup of fruit purees such as bananas or apple sauce can easily be substituted for an egg. Not to mention the sweetness can help you cut down on sugar!
1/4 cup of silken tofu can also act as a dupe for an egg. Just make sure it's nicely blended.
Every time you empty a can of chickpeas this liquid is likely to be wasted down the drain but did you know it can also be used as an egg replacement? Just 3 tablespoons of this liquid are the equivalent of one large egg.
Yoghurt is a great egg replacement and it is also a probiotic so there's an extra health benefit. Just 1/4 cup replaces a large egg but it's best to use unsweetened, plain yoghurt as not to affect the flavour.
