1. Applesauce

Applesauce can replace the butter, but also the sugar in a recipe. It will have less of a taste in chocolate cake than in a plain cake. It will make your cake as smooth as butter, but without the calories.

2. Coconut oil

Coconut oil is a perfect way to replace butter. Its neutral taste allows it to be used in both savoury and sweet mixtures.

3. Bananas

Suitable for pancakes or cakes, crushed banana will allow you to keep a smooth texture even without adding any fat. The riper the banana, the stronger its taste will be.

4. Courgettes
