A golden find in Romania

Did they expect to discover such a find? Probably not. In Biharia in the famous Transylvania, researchers from the Ţării Crişurilor Museum in Oradea came across a totally unusual burial site. As reported by Gbroéo, it was the tomb of a noblewoman. Rather well off, she seems to have gone to the afterlife with a fortune of her own. Indeed, in the tomb were found dozens of gold objects.

In total, nearly 800 bone beads, 169 gold rings and a copper bracelet were found by local researchers. The jewels lay beside the woman.

A 'noble' woman

This woman would then be 'extremely rich', the director of the museum told Agerpres. The researchers were able to confirm this hypothesis by analysing the data collected from the person's skeleton. As reported by Business Insider:

She was buried unarmed (...) tall and well-fed, and the good condition of her teeth provided further evidence of her elite status.

The bones were sent to a laboratory for further analysis. Nevertheless, this is one of the most important finds in the country. The woman found appears to have lived in the Copper Age, about 4,500 years before Christ.
