Green Jaguar

The late Queenoften turned to X-Types when they weren't available. She would drive around her three-litre diesel motor with a sunroof in the Windsor Estate in Berkshire. It would have normally been sold for around £5,000, however, owing to its Royal history its value has increased.

The green Jag – which is the range-topper – was originally sold to a buyer in 2016, claimed The Sun. After the latest sale, The Berkshire auctioneer said:

It’s a piece of history in fantastic condition.

It is a V6 petrol with around 230hp and a 144 mph top speed. According to historics.co.uk, the car was one of the Queen’s top choices and was sold for £39,200. The advert said:

In the pictures available on the internet, you can see HM Queen Elizabeth II driving this very car with Her Majesty wearing sunglasses and a headscarf which was so typical. She looked happy and healthy, leaving Windsor Castle behind her and at the wheel of the Jaguar, driving up the Long Walk.
From 2004 to 2009, the X-Type Estate wasn’t among the most desirable models the brand ever built but who would have thought this would be one of Queen Elizabeth II’s go-to vehicles?

Perfect condition

While the car has had other owners since the Queen, it is still in perfect condition and has only clocked 75,000 miles. According to historics.co.uk, the car is Emerald Fire green paint with a tan Barley leather interior.

Moreover, the car comes with its ‘original booklet stating its registration as PYN IF which can also be seen in photos with HM the Queen at the wheel.’ It also has automatic transmission, climate control, electric windows, a good service history and a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate.
