Queen Elizabeth: This is what she really thought of Meghan Markle, according to source

Meghan Markle has a rocky relationship with the Royal Family, to say the least. She and Prince Harry decided to leave the Royal Family in 2020 and went to live in Montecito with their son Archie.

The pair later welcomed their daughter, Lilibet. Since stepping down as working Royals, Harry and Meghan have only visited the UK together twice, once for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee and then again for Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.

According to The Spectator’s Kara Kennedy, a source close to the Royal Family told her that Queen Elizabeth shocked everyone when she allegedly voiced her opinion of her granddaughter-in-law. The alleged discussion took place at a drinks reception at Balmoral.

Queen Elizabeth allegedly called Meghan ‘evil’

As reported by Kara Kennedy, the late Queen Elizabeth was having a discussion with a small group of people at the reception. A source told The Spectator that ‘everybody’s eyebrows hit the ceiling’ when the late Queen made her remark.

The source explained:

At the drinks before the dinner, a small group were talking to the monarch and she explained that Harry meeting Meghan had become a complete catastrophe and described her as evil.

Adding:

It was out of character for the Queen to use such a word as 'evil' to describe Meghan, but she saw straight through her. It was a startling sentence to hear from the most forgiving woman on earth.

Queen Elizabeth allegedly regretted how things played out

The source then went on to explain that the late Queen’s health had already begun to decline and it wasn’t expected she had much longer to live:

By this point we all knew the Queen’s health was in decline and she had months left

They then go on to claim Queen Elizabeth allegedly regretted how things ended with her grandson Prince Harry and his wife:

She seemed regretful about how things had panned out.

It is thought that the Queen ‘saw through’ Meghan Markle from the beginning.
