Prince Andrew's notoriety

The Queen's second son has often made UK headlines due to his marriage and divorce from Sarah Fergurson.

However, the Duke of York stepped down from public life as a result of his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The Prince's downfall came after a disastrous BBC Newsnight interview, in which he refuted sexual abuse claims.

The Prince has recently tried to stay out of the spotlight following his multi-million out-of-court settlement for sexual assault charges on an underaged girl.

Prince Andrew: The Musical

The satirical musical, described as a 'satirical send-up' of Andrew's life set to a musical score, focuses on 'key events, relationships and controversies' surrounding the Duke of York. Especially the Prince's infamous 2019 BBC Two Newsnight, where he discussed his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Comedian and Two Doors Down actor Kieran Hodgson wrote the script for the 60-minute programme and will also be starring as the disgraced Prince himself.

It comes as part of Channel 4's 40th-anniversary celebrations. However, it would seem that Prince Andrew won't be the only royal in the hot seat. Another programme set to air during Channel 4's 'Truth or Dare' season is Frankie Boyle: Monarchy. The 75-minute show will explore 'the state of the British Monarchy and its future, looking back at its 1000-year history.'

Channel 4's tweet about up and coming 'Truth and Dare' season

Channel 4's chief content officer Ian Katz hopes the Truth or Dare season will be thought-provoking but at the same time show that the broadcaster is still as 'mischievous, disruptive and distinctive as when it was born 40 years ago.'

He noted:

' if we must age, we plan to do it disgracefully.'

However, the broadcaster has yet to announce when the programme will air.

Prince Andrew: The Musical isn't the only television programme highlighting the Duke of York's downfall.
