From actress to fashion icon to activist to skilled calligrapher, it seems there’s nothing Meghan Markle can’t do. The Bench by Meghan Markle

The book is based on a poem Meghan wrote for Harry to celebrate his very first Father’s Day as a dad to Archie back in 2018. Award-winning illustrator Christian Robinson has added ‘beautiful and ethereal watercolour illustrations that capture the warmth, joy, and comfort of the relationship between fathers and sons from all walks of life.’

Meghan said in a statement that:

Representation was particularly important to me, and Christian and I worked closely to depict this special bond through an inclusive lens. My hope is that The Bench resonates with every family, no matter the makeup, as much as it does with mine.

When is The Bench out?

The book is available for pre-order now, priced at £9.99 from both Amazon and Waterstones and will be released on 8th June. There is also set to be an audiobook version, which will be narrated by Meghan herself. The audiobook is set to be released on the same date as the picture book, 8th June.

Meghan and Harry have certainly had a busy year. As well as Meghan writing her first book, the couple have launched their own Archewell podcast and announced their first Netflix series, which will focus on the Invictus Games. Not to mention, they’re also expecting their second child, a baby girl, this summer.
