Since the young Prince will have such different responsibilities, he will need special training and a lot of preparation to one day become monarch. According to reports, Prince William and Princess Kate have reportedly already begun preparing their oldest child.

Moreover, as Prince George gets older, his relationship with his grandfather, King Charles will change over time, and there is a high chance he will become a sort of ‘mentor’ for the young Prince.

King Charles will likely become Prince George’s mentor

As mentioned above, Prince George will one day become King, taking over from his father, Prince William. As you can expect, being a monarch has a lot of responsibilities and requires a lot of preparation.

As reported by Marie Claire, Prince George shares a close bond with his grandfather, King Charles. It is believed that King Charles will eventually become a mentor for the young Prince as he will one day follow in his footsteps.

Indeed, King Charles even bestowed his eldest grandchild the highest honour at his coronation when he named Prince George as one of his Pages of Honour.

Royal author, Robert Jobson explained that at the moment, the two still have a ‘grandfather relationship’ but once Prince George gets older, the King will ‘take on that mentoring role’, which Queen Elizabeth II reportedly did for Prince William.

Robert Jobson explained, as per Hello!:

It's very much a grandfather relationship with George at the moment. But as he gets older, the King will take on that mentoring role, much as the late Queen did with William.

Prince William and Princess Kate have been preparing Prince George

Not only will King Charles likely become Prince George’s mentor in a few years, but his parents, Prince William and Princess Kate - who currently has a wave of conspiracy theories surrounding her absence - have been slowly preparing him.

According to People, Prince William and Princess Kate are trying to make the transition into royal duties as simple as possible for the young Prince, who is currently 10 years old. According to royal author Robert Hardman, the Prince of Wales is trying to ‘normalise’ royal duties.

He told People:

William is trying to normalize it. They're not in denial and there’s a lot of thought being given to it, which was not always the case.

He added that the Royal couple are trying to make sure that royal duties are ‘not scary’ for him and to help him understand as much as possible.

With George, there's a sense that the priority is that he and his siblings are not put off this, that it's not scary, that it's something that they understand and it’s going to be part of their life.
