After months of speculation, Prince Harry’s memoir and Netflix docu-series, it was confirmed that the Sussexes have been invited to the coronation by the King. However, their representative did not reveal whether the two will be attending the event or not and instead said ‘an immediate decision’ will be taken by the couple closer to the date.

Would Prince Harry attend the coronation alone?

Amidst the ongoing tension between the Royal Family and the Sussexes, Princess Diana’s former butler - Paul Burrell - believes that things could take an unexpected turn with Prince Harry attending the event alone.

According to the New York Post, King Charles may have ‘retained the moral high ground’ by sending an invite, the ‘ball is well and truly in Harry and Meghan’s court.’

Paul Burrell claimed:

It’s likely to be incredibly uncomfortable for them if they attend, particularly Meghan. Are they prepared to face the music?

He added:

I don’t think Meghan’s brave or strong enough to be there — she’d have to look in the eyes of a family she’s pushed under the bus.

Emphasising how it’ll be still difficult for Prince Harry to see Camilla where his mother could be, Paul said:

But I think Harry may come alone and she’s probably told him she won’t be able to be by his side with him if he does attend.

Royal Family to snub Harry and Meghan

Claiming that the family members are privately telling friends that they would give Harry and Meghan a ‘cold shoulder,’ a friend of the family revealed:

They will be given the cold shoulder by very many relatives. One said to me, “I hope they’ll be seated in Iceland.”
Many of the family just want nothing more to do with them. If they have to see them at the Coronation then so be it, but they do not want to socialise with them.

Until and unless the Duke and Duchess confirm their presence in the coronation themselves, it is certain that the rumours and gossip surrounding the subject will continue.
