Birthday post gone wrong

The influencer posed in her hotel room in Dubai and wore a cut-out black and white bikini top with deeply contoured make-up. Her dark tresses were braided tight, and she enhanced her attractive features with a slick of pink lipstick and a dramatic touch of mascara. Assuming she looked radiant and beautiful, Rebecca posted a series of photos and a video with a happy caption that said:

Birthday glam💋 extremely overwhelmed🥺 everyone’s kind messages really got me in my feels❣️from the bottom of my heart thanks a million to everyone who made my party so special ❤️

However, the post wasn’t as happy and special for everyone as people accused her of blackfishing and cultural appropriation. Fans were quick to notice her choice of hair and called her out instantly. They commented on her picture:

Yikes, that hair is not working for you girl 😬 Please stick to your own culture thx.
Very uncomfortable w this

Why again?

People learn from mistakes, but it looks like it’s not the same for Rebecca. She was previously accused of the same things in 2020 when she adopted a braided hairstyle and posted photos with her then-boyfriend Biggs Chris. Back then when she went through her comments and messages, she was forced to put a clarifying story that said:

I've had messages saying I'm being disrespectful to people's culture because of my hair but I wear braids all the time, just because I've got a few more braids down meant I'm being disrespectful.

While some people continued to think of her recent hairdo as disrespectful, some actually loved her hairstyle and encouraged her to keep the hairstyle in a later post. In another set of pictures that showcased the same hairstyle she wrote:

Thanks for all the Birthday wishes I had the best time ever! Love you all❤️💛
