The time where we sit and talk about Love Island, all day and all night, is just around the corner. It wasn’t long ago that we saw Millie Court and Liam Reardon win the 2021 summer season and now the ITV2 show is set to come back on screen in less than a month.
In the first look of the show this summer, the show bosses have made it clear that the show is here and it’s here to stay. The first Love Island teasers for this year arrive as the show's producers decide to remodel the villa and add a new gym space. The teaser takes a dig at all the other rival dating shows and does it so that it’s almost too beautiful to ignore.
The hit ITV2 dating show is keen to 'own' love this series, with the first promos inviting other 'pretenders' to 'stand down' as the legendary show once again takes over our lives. The teaser states:
Love Island is the OG of dating shows and after 7 years of matchmaking, marriages and babies, for 8 weeks this summer, we're officially owning love. So stand down all you pretenders - Love Is Ours.
The short but entertaining animations, which will play on today’s episode of Britain's Got Talent, give us a taste of the fun and flirting to come. Meaning, that season eight will be bigger and better than ever, so keep your eyes open this weekend. The teaser boldly and evidently marks the position of the show on top and is better than any other reality dating TV. It cheekily pokes fun at the shows Celebs Go Dating, Ex on The Beach and the Naked Attraction by showing a TV with the title 'Naked Celebs Go Dating on A Beach.'
In the promo a pink trainer squashes the TV before the word ‘love’ and uses a flag to do it that says:
WE OWN IT
A little animated Millie Court with her keyboard can be seen in the promo with the iconic Love Island pool.
