Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have had a long and tumultuous journey of 20 years to the altar. The couple met in 2002 while on the set of their movie Gigli and instantly fell in love. However, since Jen was with someone else back then, it took them a little time to get together and become couple goals.

Did he cheat?
Once they started dating, it was all a roses and rainbow romance for the couple. Jen publicly accepted on multiple occasions that Ben was the one for her. In 2002 as the couple got engaged, everybody had eyes on their wedding. Unfortunately, the couple decided to postpone the wedding a day before the ceremony. Rumour has it, Ben Affleck cheated on Jennifer Lopez with at least one girl while he was in a Vancouver strip club in July 2003. However, some sources claim that he had only been to the strip club to drink water and never touched any girl.
Regardless, it did not go down well for the 'Bennifer' relationship. They were set to tie the knot in September 2003 which was postponed until later. Allegedly, the wedding delay was due to all the media attention and frenzy. The couple explained:
Due to the excessive media attention surrounding our wedding, we have decided to postpone the date.
We began to feel that the spirit of what should have been the happiest day of our lives could be compromised.
We felt what should have been a joyful and sacred day could be spoiled for us, our families, and our friends.

Sad breakup
Amidst all the relationship drama, the media and wedding postponement, Jennifer and Ben decided to take a break from each other for some time. They then tried to rekindle the romance but ultimately called it quits in January 2004. The break-up came as a shock to half of the world but Jen’s representative confirmed:
Jennifer Lopez has ended her engagement to Ben Affleck. At this difficult time, we ask that you respect her privacy.
I am not going to confirm anything about his personal life. We don't want to get dragged into quicksand. Everybody wants a war. It's not happening from our side.
The two then went on with their lives and got married to different people until April last year, when the couple started seeing each other again to this day today, where they are engaged for the second time.
