We’re not here to rehash old drama—well, not all of it—but to catch up on the present. Where are they now, what are they doing, and how are things between them and their parents?

Growing Up Gosselin: The family that took reality TV by storm

Back in 2007, the world met a Pennsylvania couple and their unusually large and lively family on TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8.

Jon and Kate Gosselin, married in 1999, were raising a set of twins, Mady and Cara, and sextuplets: Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel. What began as Discovery Health specials turned into a full-fledged TV phenomenon that documented the everyday chaos, love, and tension of raising eight children.

The show ran for over a decade (2007 - 2017), rebranding as Kate Plus 8 after Jon and Kate's acrimonious 2009 divorce. Their fame skyrocketed, but so did public scrutiny. From court battles to family feuds, the Gosselins' private lives were under the microscope. The kids were just toddlers when the cameras started rolling, and now, remarkably, the sextuplets have turned 21.

Kate, now 50, celebrated this milestone with four of her children, posting photos of Alexis, Leah, Aaden, and Joel dining out. Meanwhile, Jon, 48, shared moments from Hannah's birthday bash with his girlfriend Stephanie Lebo. The twins, now 24, have also made their way into adulthood, with impressive accomplishments of their own.

The Gosselin kids: Where are they now?

Fast forward to 2025, and all eight Gosselin children have stepped into adulthood. Though they shared a childhood in front of cameras, their adult lives have taken individual paths—some in the spotlight, others more private. Here’s what they are doing now:

Alexis Gosselin

Alexis Gosselin is reportedly living with her mother in North Carolina. Known for her love of animals, Alexis expressed interest in working with them as a career. Kate has shared several snapshots of Alexis with family pets over the years, including one with their pet bird, Zorro, whom she was described as being inseparable from. Alexis appears to enjoy her privacy, staying largely out of the public eye.

Hannah Gosselin

Hannah Gosselin made the significant choice to live with her father in 2018. According to Us Weekly, this wasn’t because of any conflict with her siblings, whom she said she loves deeply, but more due to the environment at home. She now balances college life with entrepreneurial ambitions—she started her own skincare brand, Gosselin Girl Beauty, and runs a YouTube channel with her boyfriend. Her father revealed that she often uses his house to store her belongings while studying. Hannah recently celebrated her 21st with Jon and his fiancée Stephanie.

Aaden Gosselin

Aaden Gosselin often remembered for his adorable glasses and sweet smile on the show, remains with his mother. He has maintained a quieter lifestyle, though Kate has posted tributes celebrating his thoughtfulness and deep bond with their dog, Mak. One year, he even requested holiday gifts specifically for Mak. He is reportedly still very much an animal lover and close to his family.

Collin Gosselin

Collin Gosselin has faced perhaps the most dramatic changes. After spending time in a residential institution following his mother's concerns over behavioural issues, Collin moved in with Jon in 2018. He has since started college at Penn State and launched Gosselin Pressure Washing LLC, a power washing business based in Pennsylvania. Though his time in the Marines was cut short due to his history, Collin seems determined to build a new life. He’s spoken openly about feeling isolated during his upbringing, but has shared his hopes to reconnect with his siblings someday.

Leah Gosselin

Leah Gosselin also lives with Kate and has been showcasing her baking talents online. She runs a TikTok channel, @bakingbyleah, where she shares detailed baking tutorials. Her passion for culinary arts was even featured on her mother’s Instagram. Leah remains close to her siblings, who live with her and continues to express herself through her baked creations.

Joel Gosselin

Joel Gosselin, the youngest of the sextuplets, has maintained a low profile. Kate has occasionally posted updates, including a sweet message when he had his braces removed. Joel won a family go-kart outing once, which Kate proudly shared online. He’s been described by his mother as wise and wholesome, and he appears to prefer a quiet, off-camera life.

The twins

Mady Gosselin

Mady Gosselin, one of the twins, now lives in New York City with her sister Cara. A Syracuse University graduate, Mady has spoken out about growing up in the public eye and dealing with online hate. She said in a TikTok post:

I’ve been getting hate mail since I was 6 but that doesn’t mean you need to keep sending it. Learn how to respect people’s boundaries and practice kindness. I bet your life will be so much more enjoyable because of it!

She’s also talked about her Korean-American heritage, saying she was ‘hyper aware of my ethnicity from a young age’ and now proudly celebrates it. Mady has made it clear she values privacy, but also isn’t afraid to speak her truth when needed.

Cara Gosselin

Cara Gosselin, the quieter twin, studied math and economics at Fordham University and now works at Bank of America. Unlike her outspoken sister, Cara tends to stay off social media. Despite her low profile, she’s made a successful transition into adult life with a career in finance.

The bond between Gosselin kids and their parents

Despite their physical maturity, emotional scars and divisions remain among the Gosselin clan. The kids’ relationships with their parents—and each other—are complex.

Hannah and Collin, having lived with Jon for years, have spoken publicly about their struggles. They appeared in Vice TV’sDark Side of the 2000s, where Hannah recalled how Collin was often excluded from family activities. He added:

I don’t think effort was made in the home to help him learn what behavior is acceptable and what behavior is not acceptable.
Being in an institution really took a toll on me mentally. It was a really dark place. You know, all I had was myself. I didn’t have anybody else. You know, I had no support system. I was confused. I was lost.

Kate spoke up about the decision to place him in an institution in 2023:

My son Collin, whom I love with all my heart, has received multiple psychiatric diagnoses over the years. For the safety of myself, his brothers and sisters and for his own well-being, he was placed in a facility following years of outpatient treatment.

However, Collin had a different stance on it:

Our family was under a spotlight 24/7. My mother, especially following her divorce, there was this light cast on her as a single mother, taking care of eight children. And I believe strongly—I know strongly—the reason I was sent away was for my mother to protect her reputation.

Collin has opened up about his institutionalisation and his estranged relationship with Kate.

After being (sent away), I didn’t have a relationship with her.

Jon, meanwhile, has had limited contact with the rest of the children. He last spoke to Mady and Cara in 2014 and has since expressed sadness over their estrangement. He told Us Weekly:

At this point the chance of co-parenting with my ex has likely come to an end.

Mady has been vocal about not wanting people to project their opinions on her family. She shared on TikTok in 2023:

Perpetuating the narrative that we are damaged or that we are crazy child stars or whatever you want to say is extremely harmful.

Some hope remains, however. IN Touch reported that Leah and Hannah recently reunited at a mall, suggesting some siblings are open to rekindling relationships.
