UK celebrities who have died in 2023 from Paul O'Grady to George Alagiah

Sylvia Syms died 27 January at the age of 87. The actress was known for her work on EastEnders and for the movie The Queen with Dame Helen Mirren. 

Jeff Beck died 10 January at the age of 78. He was one of the world's best guitarists. 

Filmmaker Hugh Hudson died 10 February. He directed movies such as Chariots of Fire (1981) and Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984).

Steve Mackey died 3 March at 56. He was the bassist of the band Pulp. 

Margaret Lake more vastly known as Mystic Meg died 9 March at 80. She was an important TV figure of the 90s and wrote horoscopes for The Sun for over 20 years. 

Bill Tidy, of his real name, William Edward Tidy, died 11 March at 89. He was a cartoonist known forThe Cloggies.
