Martin Lewis: Could the money expert replace Phillip Schofield on This Morning?

Since Phillip Schofield left This Morning in May, ITV has been looking for his replacement. Now, a new poll reveals that Martin Lewis could step into the role.

ITV has been in a bit of a pickle since Phillip Schofield left This Morning in May. The show’s star presenter also caught the channel in a massive scandal which, months later, still gathers a lot of attention.

Since his departure, the show has seen a plethora of hosts. From Allison Hammond, Dermot O’Leary to Craig Doyle, all have stepped into the role with varied amounts of success. But now, a betting website is bringing forth a surprising familiar face as a possible replacement: money expert Martin Lewis.

Martin Lewis to host This Morning

This possibility came from Entertainment Daily. The publication cites a poll on Online Betting Guide which places Martin Lewis at ‘20:1 for the role.’ However we haven’t been able to check that poll.

Even without the betting as evidence, Martin Lewis seems like a not-so-crazy choice. Indeed, he has been a fixture on This Morning since 2007 where he gives the nation useful and educated tips on how to save money.

Moreover, since 2012, The Martin Lewis Money Show has been on ITV. The newest season began on 31 October.

Who else could step into the role?

Of course Martin Lewis is not the only name whispered since Phillip Schofield left. The whispers have even grown louder since Holly Willoughby announced her exit in early October 2023.

Of course the names of Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary have been in everyone’s mouths especially considering that the two already host the show on Fridays. But, it appears that since Willoughby and Schofield left viewers have grown accustomed to hosts such as Rylan Clark or Craig Doyle.

The duo Rylan Clark and Josie Gibson that have been hosting This Morning since 30 October was welcomed by raving reviews from viewers. Their Halloween special was particularly popular. Some X comments say:
